HIGH SCHOOL: Right-hander from Venice High School who played for head coach Craig Faulkner…Had an 11-4 record with a 1.07 earned run average during his prep career…Earned all-state recognition in Class 5A as a senior…Collected five wins and had a school-record five saves with a .348 batting average and 20 RBI last season as the Indians advanced to the regional quarterfinals and finished 20-7…Notched 80 strikeouts in 45 innings with a 1.35 ERA…Tossed a no-hitter against Charlotte High School in the Class 5-A-District 10 semifinals in which he had 16 strikeouts and issued one walk in the 3-0 victory…Named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2011 Sarasota Baseball Classic and also participated in Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star Game…Had three complete games as a junior, when he compiled a 1.07 ERA and picked up six wins in 65.1 innings…Rhodes was named Venice’s Most Valuable Player and Best Pitcher that season.
