AS A FRESHMAN (2012): One of the five Gator baseball players named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll…Appeared in six contests spanning four innings and was 0-0 with a 2.25 earned run average…Retired the lone Vanderbilt batter that he faced during the SEC Tournament…Pitched a perfect inning in the victory over Bethune-Cookman on April 25…Also made relief appearances against North Florida (0.1 IP), South Carolina (0.2 IP), Vanderbilt (0.2 IP) and Florida Atlantic (1.0 IP)…Set down both hitters he faced in the SEC opener versus the Commodores…Closed the win over Florida Atlantic with a scoreless ninth inning.

SUMMER: Played with Gator teammates Keenan Kish and Cory Reid for the North Shore (Mass.) Navigators last summer…Ranked as the No. 1 Top Prospect in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League by Perfect Game and was No. 5 by Baseball America…Started in the league’s All-Star Game and pitched a scoreless frame…In eight regular-season appearances, including four starts, Stump was 3-0 with a 2.20 ERA in 32.2 innings…Totaled 26 strikeouts and allowed six walks…Hurled seven shutout innings, scattering seven hits and striking out three batters, but did not figure in the decision during game one of the playoffs against the Torrington (Conn.) HIGH SCHOOL: Left-hander from the Lakeland Christian School who played for head coach Blaine Fox…Ranked No. 22 in the state of Florida and rated No. 113 in the Class of 2011 Final Rankings from Perfect Game…Was a second-team Preseason All-American by Rawlings and named to the Florida All-Region First Team…Two-time Class 2A Player of the Year and three-time all-country selection…Led Lakeland Christian to its first two Regional appearances…Was 6-3 with 78 strikeouts and a 2.14 ERA in 61.1 innings as a junior…Member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the National Honor Society in high school…Member of Chet Lemon’s Juice travel baseball team that captured the prestigious 2010 World Wood Bat Association (WWBA) National Championship.
