CAREER: Over his four-year tenure, Larson compiled a record of 13-4 (.765) and registered a 2.91 ERA in 122 appearances and five starts…His appearance total ranks second all-time at Florida behind Connor Falkenbach (124, 2002-05)…Registered 115 strikeouts and allowed 41 walks in 160.2 innings…His 17 appearances in the NCAA Tournament are the most by a Gator pitcher…Two-time member of the SEC Baseball Community Service Team.

 

AS A SENIOR (2012): Selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 20th round with the 631st selection in the Major League Baseball Draft…Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the third-straight year…In a team-high 35 appearances, including two starts, Larson was 6-0 with a team-low 1.33 earned run average…The righty totaled 38 strikeouts and permitted 12 walks in 54.1 innings of work and limited opponents to a .204 batting average…Posted a team-low 1.59 ERA in 15 SEC outings, with a 2-0 record and nine strikeouts in 17 innings…Named to the 2012 SEC Baseball Community Service Team for the second-straight year, Larson was a member of Florida’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and participated with Goodwill Gators by visiting children at Shands Hospital and in area schools…Also assisted with the “Miracle on Main Street” events, helping to provide Christmas gifts to more than 300 families and worked as a counselor at several baseball camps, working with youngsters aged 5-18…Florida's male nominee for the SEC's H. AS A JUNIOR (2011): Selected in the 29th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim with the 885th choice…Earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the second-straight year…Named to the 2011 SEC Baseball Community Service Team…Ranked third on the Gators with 33 appearances and was 1-1 with a 2.09 ERA…Was part of four shutouts…Struck out 30 batters and permitted seven walks in 38.2 innings…Registered a 0.66 ERA and was 1-0 in 11 SEC appearances totaling 13.2 innings…Larson and Steven Rodriguez tied the school’s postseason record for appearances in a series with four at the NCAA College World Series…Is now tied with Connor Falkenbach (2002-05) for most appearances in the postseason by a UF pitcher with 12…Matched Nick Maronde and Rodriguez for the team lead with six appearances during the ’11 NCAA Tourney, when he was 0-0 with a 2.70 ERA in 3.1 innings…Did not permit any runs during four games in Omaha, facing South Carolina twice, Vanderbilt and Texas…Tied season-best three K in the series opener against Kentucky…Saw time in both wins over Vanderbilt in Nashville and did not allow any hits or runs…Had a stretch of 10-straight scoreless outings between April 17-May 19…Matched season-high of 3.2 innings and earned the victory in the finale at Georgia…Delivered two strikeouts and allowed one run during UF’s 5-4 win over Florida State…Retired all six batters he faced as Florida downed Miami (Fla.) to kick off the weekend set at McKethan Stadium…Had two strikeouts in 1.2 innings in the 5-0 shutout of USF that completed the opening-weekend sweep for the Orange and Blue…A member of Florida’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, he participated in the “Gator Tracks” Christmas shoe drive in which he collected and brought shoes, wrapped boxes and distributed the items to local schools…The right-hander helped with the Friends of Jaclyn adoption with the rest of his teammates and has volunteered at a food bank near his hometown in Orlando…In addition, Larson has assisted with the Climb for Cancer, an event in which Gator student-athletes play games and compete with cancer-stricken kids and their siblings in a variety of sports…Participated in the Drive for Haiti, collecting t-shirts from various athletic teams to provide relief for the victims of the earthquake which struck the country.

 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2010): Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll…Tied with Jeff Barfield for second on Florida with 25 appearances, just behind Kevin Chapman (31)…Had a 3-1 record and notched three saves with a 5.70 ERA in 36.1 innings…Started twice, at Florida State (April 13) and against Jacksonville (April 6)…Totaled a career-high 31 strikeouts and allowed only four walks…Went 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA in nine league games…Had three scoreless appearances during the NCAA Tournament…Struck out the lone Florida State batter he faced during the College World Series…With the tying run on second base in the 10th inning of game two in the Super Regional, Larson had a strikeout and induced a game-ending ground out to help the Gators punch their first ticket to Omaha since 2005…Tossed two perfect innings and equaled his career high of three K in the victory over Oregon State during Regionals…Collected a pair of outs during the 5-2 win over South Carolina that clinched the SEC crown…Worked a career-high four innings without yielding any runs and earned the decision in the 4-3 triumph against Georgia which opened the weekend series…Saved the second matchup versus Arkansas with a 3.1-inning stint in which he kept the Hogs scoreless…Notched the victory in the series opener at Kentucky by going 3.2 innings without permitting any hits or runs and had three punchouts…Took the loss at FSU after surrendering seven hits and three runs in two innings…Earned his first win of the campaign with a three-inning effort against Jacksonville…Opened SEC play in fine fashion with 1.2 scoreless frames and a pair of strikeouts as the Gators knocked off Mississippi State, 7-2…Totaled two K and did not give up any hits versus the Seminoles in Tampa…Picked up first career save on opening night by holding USF in check over 2.1 innings.

 

AS A FRESHMAN (2009): Member of the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll…Ranked third on the Gators with 29 appearances, trailing only Billy Bullock (34) and Tony Davis (32)…Was 3-2 with a 3.45 ERA in 31.1 innings…Issued 18 walks and had 16 strikeouts…Played in 14 SEC games and turned in a 2-0 mark with a 3.27 ERA in 11 innings…Participated in both games of the NCAA Super Regional against Southern Miss and did not allow any runs…Called in from the bullpen every game of the Georgia series as the Gators notched a sweep…Threw two scoreless and hitless innings in the 5-4 win over USF…Made his collegiate starting debut at No. 15 Florida State on April 14 and limited the Seminoles to one hit over a career-high 4.1 innings before reaching a predetermined pitch count…Was the only Gator pitcher to face FSU in all three meetings and was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 6.2 innings…Earned the dramatic victory over Alabama on March 28, when the Orange and Blue tallied seven runs on five hits in the decisive stanza for a stunning 9-8 triumph…Larson had retired consecutive batters with a pair of Crimson Tide runners in scoring position to hold UF’s deficit at 8-2 entering the final frame…Collected his first collegiate win in the finale against Tennessee, when he worked 1.1 scoreless innings in the 7-5 decision that completed a three-game sweep…Notched a career-high three strikeouts in the SEC opener at Arkansas…Kept Eastern Michigan off the scoreboard in each of the Gator victories over the Eagles in late February.

 

SUMMER: Made seven appearances, including three starts, for the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod League in 2010…Totaled a 2.19 ERA and was 1-3 in 24.2 innings…Boasted a 5:1 walk-to-strikeout ratio, with 20 K and four walks…Set a season high with five strikeouts and gave up one run in a 6-2 victory over Brewster and worked a season-high seven frames in a 4-1 setback to Hyannis.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Lake Brantley High School in Orlando…Head coach was Mike Smith…Listed among the 2008 Top 100 High School Prospects by Baseball America and was No. 98 in the Class of 2008 Final Rankings from Perfect Game…The Patriots claimed the state title with a 31-4 record and were ranked 15th by USA Today in Larson’s final campaign…He was 2-1 with a 2.13 ERA but was limited to 12.1 innings due to an injury…Named to the 32-player roster for the 2007 USA Junior National Team Trials…Was 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA and registered 26 strikeouts and six walks in 16.1 innings as a junior…Produced a 14-strikeout gem over 4.1 innings against Flagler Palm Coast…Playing for the Orlando Scorpions, Larson’s club was the runner-up at the prestigious World Wood Bat Association (WWBA) Championship held in Jupiter from Oct. 25-29, 2007…While a member of the Orlando Blast, his team won AAU national titles in 1999 and 2002 and was second at the 2000 event…Was tabbed the Most Valuable Player of the 2005 United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) World Series that his Team Orlando captured…A three-time all-conference selection in basketball, he earned the Orlando Sentinel’s Player of the Week in both sports during the 2006-07 school year and captained both squads in his final prep season…The Patriots captured the district championship on the hardwood in his sophomore and junior seasons…Received the Gary Hayes Award, presented to the student-athlete who displays sports leadership at Lake Brantley…Member of the National and Spanish Honor Societies.
