AS A SOPHOMORE (2011): Played in 33 games, with 18 starts (16-CF, 2-RF)...Batted .284 with 15 runs, eight RBI and eight walks...Had three stolen bases in three attempts...Had a .242 average in 15 SEC games, with seven runs and two RBI...Came off the bench twice against Ole Miss but did not bat...Played in the first two games at Georgia and was 1-for-3 with a sacrifice...Made the defensive play of the game in the finale at Mississippi State by snaring a line drive with the bases loaded in the ninth for the second out, as the Gators went on to post a 3-1 victory...Had a sac bunt in the opener with Tennessee...Started all three games of the South Carolina series in center field and batted .444 (4-for-9) with a team-leading four runs...Had an RBI single in the second inning in the finale, scored and drew a walk...Snapped a 1-1 tie with a lead-off homer in the seventh on Saturday night...Was his first dinger of the year...Began the series 2-for-4 and scored a run…Set an assortment of season highs in game one with Winthrop, when he was 3-for-5 with three runs and a theft...Was 1-for-4 (.250) in two games at LSU...Laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt in the fourth inning that put two runners in scoring position and Jeff Moyer followed with a pinch-hit, two-run single that moved the Gators in front...Had a pinch-hit single in the ninth on Friday and later scored on a two-run single by Nolan Fontana...Delivered a key pinch-hit RBI double in the eighth inning in the home meeting with Florida State and scored the tying run on Daniel Pigott’s single...Came off the bench twice against Rhode Island and was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run...Also had a stolen base and a walk...Notched first career triple in game two... AS A FRESHMAN (2010): Saw action in 27 games, with 18 starts in the outfield...Was hitting .308 with 15 runs, nine walks, eight stolen bases and six RBI before being lost for the campaign on April 10...Batted .259 with six runs and three stolen bases in SEC play...Crashed into the right-field wall in the second inning of game two at Tennessee and was out for the season with an injured hamstring...Had a pinch-hit single and scored in the eighth against Jacksonville...Was 3-for-9 (.333) and a perfect 2-for-2 on the basepaths at Ole Miss...Had an RBI single and stole home as part of a 2-for-5 effort in the finale...Had a pinch-hit single and stole second in the ninth of the series opener...Started two of the three games versus Mississippi State and was 2-for-6 (.333) with three runs...Drew a walk and scored on Austin Maddox’s three-run jack in the finale...Went 2-for-4 in game two...Came through with a 3-for-4 performance in which he scored a career-high three runs in the win over Florida State at McKethan Stadium... HIGH SCHOOL: Outfielder from Park Vista High School who played for head coach Larry Greenstein and was a teammate of fellow Gator freshman Cody Dent…Collected honorable mention all-state recognition in Class 6A last season and was on the large schools’ honorable mention Palm Beach Post All-Area Team…Chosen All-Area South Florida by ESPN Rise Magazine…The Cobras were ranked third in Baseball America’s 2009 Preseason High School Top-50 poll and advanced to the semifinals of the state tournament for the second-straight year, finishing with a mark of 24-8...Named third-team Rawlings Preseason All-America and was a first-team choice to the Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason Florida Region Team prior to his final prep campaign…Washington ranked No. 22 in the state of Florida according to Prospectswire.com, No. 4 among outfielders…Rated No. 142 in Class of 2009 Final Rankings from Perfect Game…Participated in the annual Dick Howser All-Star Game…Was a first-team Class 6A all-state recipient as a junior, when he batted .538 with 33 RBI and 27 runs…Also a member of the first-team Palm Beach County All-Conference Team, Central Division that season as Park Vista advanced to the Class 6A state championship game and finished 31-2.
