Edmund Boyd is in his seventh season as UF’s Assistant Director of Athletic Equipment and is Gator Baseball’s Equipment Manager, a position he undertook in December of 2006. His main responsibilities revolve around ordering and accounting all of Florida's baseball equipment from Easton, New Era, Nike and Rawlings, while also directing actual game-day equipment efforts for the team. Boyd oversees a staff of seven student managers and runs a state-of-the art area within the baseball complex which houses everything needed by the student-athletes.
A native of Fresno and then Ridgecrest, Calif., Boyd earned his bachelor's degree in administrative management in 1989 from the University of Arkansas and received his master's in recreation management from UA in 1990. From 1991-99, he worked in the intramural sports program at the University of Florida and assisted in game-day operations for the Gator baseball and football programs between 1991 and 2006. Boyd was also the Regional Manager for DeConna Ice Cream for six years spanning 2000-06. He resides in Gainesville with his wife, Barbara, and has three children: Tommy (12), Katherine (7) and Penelope (1).
