AS A SENIOR (2008): Earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the fourth time…Only three players in school history have collected the academic recognition more times (Jeff Cardozo, Kevin Coleman and Matt Siegel)…Named to the SEC’s Community Service Team...Batted a career-high .337 in 45 starts at first base and three at DH...Returned to the lineup at Kentucky on April 18 after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee on April 2 versus North Florida...Batted a remarkable .367 (29-for-79) with 20 RBI over his final 20 games of the campaign while playing hurt…Fourth on the Gators with 44 RBI and had a career-high four triples...Drew 13 walks, poked 11 doubles and was hit five times…Hit a team-best .362 through 23 league contests and drove in 23 runs...Chipped in with two homers...Went 2-for-9 (.222) during NCAA Regionals and had a game-tying RBI double against Tulane…Ranked second on the club with a .429 (3-for-7) effort at the SEC Tournament and drove in three of UF's six runs...Was 1-for-3 with a first-inning sac fly and had an RBI single in the third against South Carolina...Went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI single against Vanderbilt in Hoover...Belted what proved to be the game-winning homer with a two-run jack in the eighth inning of the series opener with the Commodores to snap a 6-6 tie...Was 2-for-5 with three RBI and scored twice in game one...Continued to pace the Gators in SEC play with a team-leading 6-for-14 (.429) showing at Alabama...Also led the Orange and Blue in total bases (10) and RBI (three)...Hit his first homer since Feb. 9, 2007 (VMI) with a two-run blast in the fifth inning of the finale...Went 4-for-13 (.308) with two RBI, a walk and a run scored at South Carolina...Knocked in four runs in a 3-for-9 (.333) weekend versus Georgia...Broke a scoreless tie in game three with a bases-clearing double down the right-field line in the third inning...Later scored on a single by Jon Townsend, giving the Orange and Blue a 4-0 lead in an eventual 7-2 win...Season-high 12-game hitting streak was snapped in game two, three shy of his career-high...Came back after a nine-game hiatus to go 5-for-9 (.556) over the first two meetings with Kentucky...Extended hitting streak to seven games by going 5-for-12 (.417) in the LSU series...Had a .333 (4-for-12) showing at Ole Miss and matched his season high of three hits in the final meeting with the Rebels...Smacked key RBI double in the second inning...Hit .333 (4-for-12) versus Auburn and matched Josh Adams by driving in six runs...Poked a two-run single in the seventh on Sunday, when he was 2-for-4...Roped a two-run triple in the fifth of the opener after plating Adams with a fielder’s choice in the fourth...Scored five runs over the two games with Eastern Michigan and was 3-for-5 (.600) with three RBI...Returned to the Gators’ lineup after being injured on opening night of the '07 season and led the squad to a sweep of Siena by hitting a team-best .455 (5-for-11) with six RBI…Took over the first-base duties from All-American Matt LaPorta and provided a similar offensive punch…Broke a 6-6 deadlock in the season opener with a two-run triple in the sixth inning, leading to an eventual 10-7 win…Went a perfect 3-for-3 and contributed two RBI during Saturday’s 4-0 victory…Opened the scoring with a two-out double in the first frame and added an RBI single in the fifth…Tallied two more RBI in Sunday’s 13-6 conquest of the Saints and equaled his career high of two walks.

 

AS A JUNIOR (2007): Member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the third time…Underwent season-ending surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow in the middle of February…Entered the campaign as the Gators’ starting third baseman and was hurt on opening night against VMI on Feb. 9…Went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in his only action…Marked the second-straight year that McArthur belted a round-tripper in the Gators' first game.

 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2006): Participated in 46 of the Gators’ 56 games, missing several due to a deep bone bruise and recurring shin problems...Started 25 games at second base, 13 at third base and five at designated hitter for UF...Earned Academic All-SEC honors for the second time…Hit .262 with 20 RBI and scored 19 runs...Equaled his rookie season output of two homers and poked a couple of triples…Turned in a .263 average in 24 SEC contests with seven runs and five RBI...Had 10 multiple-hit games and five multiple-RBI outings...Ended the season with a 4-for-7 (.571) effort during the LSU series…Belted a game-tying two-run homer in the opener…Delivered a solid 3-for-7 (.429) showing in the first two games at No. 8 Alabama...Tied for second on the Gators with a .400 (4-for-10) clip versus Auburn...Was 2-for-4 in the finale with an RBI and a run scored...Notched his seventh multiple-hit outing of the year by going 2-for-3 against Bethune-Cookman...Hit .231 (3-for-13) at Kentucky and was 2-for-5 in the series opener with the ‘Cats...Went 3-for-8 (.375) in the Vanderbilt series...Named to the College Baseball Foundation Honor Roll on March 14 following a 6-for-14 (.429) showing in the sweep of Harvard...Established a career high with four RBI in the opener and matched that total in the finale...Key hit in game one was a bases-clearing triple with two down in the seventh...Contributed a two-run single on Saturday and set a career high with three hits as part of a 3-for-5 outing in the last encounter with the Crimson...Led the Gators with a .500 (3-for-6) effort against UNCG...Drew a bases-loaded walk during the six-run second inning for the Gators in the series finale that completed the sweep of Miami (Fla.)...Hit .308 (4-for-13) versus Cincinnati and tied for the team lead with six runs...Connected on the Gators’ first home run of the season with a fourth-inning solo shot on opening night.

 

AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2005): Played in 64 games for Florida and made 60 starts at third base...Batted .268 overall with 30 RBI...Was the lone Gator chosen to the SEC's All-Freshman squad after batting .286 in 28 league outings…Hit .220 (9-for-41) during the NCAA Tournament and drove in seven runs...Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the first time…Was 2-for-3 and scored UF’s first run against Texas on June 26 in the College World Series...Had an RBI grounder in the second game of the NCAA Super Regional series versus Florida State…Went 2-for-4 and scored twice in the 8-1 win over the Seminoles on June 10...Launched the second of his club's three round-trippers as part of back-to-back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning in the first meeting with FSU in the NCAA Super Regional…Lofted a sacrifice fly to drive in the go-ahead run in the third inning against Notre Dame in the championship game of the NCAA Gainesville Regional...Was 2-for-4 with two RBI in the opening-round win over Stetson...Ranked fifth on the squad with a .308 (4-for-13) effort at the SEC Tourney...Second on the Orange and Blue with .400 (4-for-10) clip in the series win over Mississippi State...Managed a 2-for-3 outing in the third meeting with FSU, including his first career triple...Raised hitting streak to team-best 15 games with a chopper in the sixth at Florida State...Hit .448 (26-for-58) during the skein, which ended on April 22 with an 0-for-4 showing at Auburn…Remained in the zone with an eye-popping .667 (8-for-12) clip at Georgia...Set a career high with four hits in game two’s 12-1 drubbing of the Bulldogs...Closed series by going 3-for-5...Hit a sizzling .500 (6-for-12) versus Kentucky...Clubbed his first career homer in Sunday’s finale with a two-run shot...Opened the set with a then-career-high three hits, followed by a 2-for-3, two-RBI outing in which he scored a career-best three runs...Enjoyed a 2-for-4 night in Tallahassee in the first encounter with Florida State...Singled in the second game at Ole Miss for his first SEC hit...Was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI in a 15-6 win on Feb. 13 over Charleston Southern...Poked an RBI double in the seventh and delivered a sacrifice fly to center in the fifth for the first two RBI of his collegiate career...First hit at Florida was a single in the fourth inning.

SUMMER: Was a member of the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod League during the summer of 2005…In 18 games, he hit .239 (16-for-67) with seven runs and four RBI…Joined Gator teammates Stephen Barton and Jeff Corsaletti on the Rochester (Minn.) Honkers of the Northwest League in 2004…Batted .282, scored 18 runs and totaled 13 RBI over 29 games…Homered twice in the same inning during a 13-0 rout of Mankato on July 3…Laced an RBI single on the first pitch of his season debut on June 29 against Madison. 

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four varsity letters playing for head coach Joey Fernandez…Was a first-team all-state selection in Class 4A as chosen by the Florida Sports Writers Association during his senior campaign…Took home the Tony Saladino Award, presented to the Hillsborough County Player of the Year…Previous winners include Tino Martinez and Gary Sheffield… Collected the Tampa Tribune County Player of the Year award…Received the John Lynch Award for the month of April 2003, awarded to the Tampa area athlete who demonstrates outstanding academic, athletic and community service…Batted .419 in his final prep season…Compiled a 7-3 record on the mound and registered a 1.34 earned run average…Participated in the Tampa Area North-South All-Star game…Three-time first-team All-Western Conference honoree…Named first-team all-county and as his team's Most Valuable Player as both a junior and senior…Hit .405 as a junior and swiped 12 stolen bases…Was an even 4-4 with a 1.88 ERA on the hill… As a sophomore, he hit .419 with 12 RBI and a pair of homers…Was chosen in the fifth round of the 2003 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Minnesota Twins.
