AS A JUNIOR (2010): Chosen in the fourth round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft by the Kansas City Royals with the 119th pick…Was named a third-team All-American by the NCBWA, becoming the first Gator pitcher to earn All-America status since Justin Hoyman in 2004…Also garnered second-team All-South Region accolades…Made a team-high 31 appearances and was 3-0 with a 1.64 earned run average…Tied for second in the SEC with 11 saves, a total that tied for fourth in a single season at Florida…Limited opponents to a .190 batting average…Registered 44 strikeouts and permitted seven walks in 43.2 innings…Achieved first-team All-SEC status as a relief pitcher after going 3-0 with seven saves and a 1.59 ERA in SEC play…Notched the save as UF stayed alive at the SEC Tourney with a 5-4 decision over Arkansas…Recognized as the SEC Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career on May 24 after helping the Gators clinch their first conference title since 2005 at No. 6 South Carolina…Chapman collected saves during the first two games versus the Gamecocks...Over the two outings, the southpaw worked a total of 3.2 scoreless and hitless innings and registered three strikeouts…He preserved UF’s 3-2 victory on Thursday with two scoreless frames and recorded the final five outs on Friday as the Gators captured their 11th SEC title and 20th Eastern Division crown with a 5-2 triumph…Earned the victory in game two against Georgia as Ben McMahan clubbed a walk-off homer to begin the bottom of the ninth with the game tied at three runs apiece…Preserved the 8-5 win over LSU with 2.2 scoreless and hitless innings in which he totaled two strikeouts…Collected a victory over Arkansas after yielding game-tying homer in the eighth when Mike Zunino had a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth…Had a stretch of six-straight appearances between April 2-April 17 in which he did not allow a run…Threw 2.1 scoreless innings and matched his career high of four strikeouts to complete the weekend sweep of Mississippi State to start league activity…Had saved the second victory over the Bulldogs…Hurled three scoreless frames to pick up the save against Florida State at McKethan Stadium…Fired a season-high four innings in which he held Miami (Fla.) scoreless on one hit to earn a save as the Gators claimed the rubber match of the series in Coral Gables…Did not allow any runs during his first seven appearances of the campaign.

 

AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2009): Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the second year in a row…Appeared in 11 games and was 1-0 with a 2.38 earned run average in 11.1 innings…Kept the opposition off the scoreboard in eight of his outings…Chapman’s lone start of the year came against USF on April 22, in which he allowed two hits and two runs with two walks in two innings…The Gators rallied for a 5-4 triumph in 10 innings…It was his first starting assignment since March 27, 2007, against Bethune-Cookman…Retired the lone batter he faced in the opening game of the NCAA Gainesville Regional against B-CU…Threw 1.1 scoreless innings in the first meeting with Ole Miss…Notched his first victory since April 3, 2007, by hurling a season-high 2.1 scoreless frames in the second matchup against Eastern Michigan…Worked one inning during the 10-4 win over eighth-ranked Louisville on the opening weekend of the campaign.

 

(2008): Was sidelined for the entire season while recovering from off-season elbow surgery and received a medical redshirt…Earned a berth on the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

 

AS A FRESHMAN (2007): Made 19 appearances and six starts in his first collegiate season…Was 2-1 with 27 strikeouts and 22 walks in 38.1 innings…Threw 2.1 scoreless innings in the 5-3 setback to No. 7 South Carolina at the SEC Tournament…Kept Tennessee off the scoreboard over 2.1 innings in the regular-season finale…Worked a total of 3.2 innings in the series at top-ranked Vanderbilt and permitted only one run…Notched three strikeouts in two innings of work in the 5-4 victory at No. 1 Florida State on April 18…Collected the win over the Seminoles in Jacksonville on April 3 with two scoreless frames in which he issued three walks and totaled a pair of K…Chapman's first six appearances were mid-week starts against Florida A&M, Florida State, USF, Jacksonville, Army and Bethune-Cookman…Limited the Rattlers to one hit over five innings in his Division I debut and totaled four strikeouts on Feb. 13…The left-hander was supported by a Gator offense that had 11 different players contribute at least one hit…Took the loss against FSU after yielding seven hits and six runs (five earned) on Feb. 20…Allowed one hit and zero runs in two IP versus Bethune-Cookman.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Left-handed pitcher from Westminster Academy under the guidance of head coaches Rich Hofman and Gregg Mucerino and was a teammate of Matt den Dekker…Taken by the Detroit Tigers in the 42nd round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft with the 1,252nd pick…Was a 2006 first-team Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American but was limited by injury during his senior campaign…Selected as a 2005 Louisville Slugger All-American, when he finished 8-2 with a scant 0.89 ERA…Registered 140 strikeouts in 93 innings…First-team all-state selection in Class 2A…Named both the Pitcher and Player of the Year in Broward County…Also saw time in center field and at first base for the Lions, who were 26-4-1 overall…Lettered in golf and was a member of the honor roll at Westminster.
