AS A JUNIOR (2011): Taken in the 11th round with the 341st overall pick by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft…Made 29 appearances and was 6-3 with a 3.99 earned run average…The righty had 32 strikeouts and 10 walks in 38.1 innings and picked up his first career save against USF on Feb. 19...Saw action in nine SEC games and was 2-1 with a 3.75 ERA, with 12 K and three walks in 12 innings…Faced South Carolina and Vanderbilt during the College World Series…Earned the victory in game three of the Gainesville Super Regional against Mississippi State that sent Florida to Omaha for the second year in a row and the seventh time in school history…Was also the winning pitcher in the Gators’ walk-off win over Miami (Fla.) during the Gainesville Regional...Totaled two strikeouts in one inning to lift UF to a 3-2 decision over Georgia and a berth in the championship game of the SEC Tourney…Started the first-round contest against Mississippi State and had a season-high strikeouts over 2.2 innings…Collected the win in 12 innings versus Vanderbilt with three strikeouts in two scoreless frames…On the hook for the loss in the series finale with South Carolina…Captured the series opener at No. 5 LSU (2.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R)…Fanned the lone Florida State batter he faced on March 15 at McKethan Stadium…Threw two shutout innings at USF…Was brilliant in the series finale against Miami (Fla.), as the Gators completed a sweep behind his 2.2 perfect innings…Drew the start versus FSU in Tampa and was charged with the defeat…Earned his first career save in the 4-1 triumph over USF after giving up two hits and zero runs in 2.1 innings.

 

AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2010): Selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 32nd round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft with the 975th pick…Received the Steve Georgiadis Award, given in memory of the former UF pitcher who passed away on March 17, 1990, to the Gator player who has most overcome adversity…Made 11 appearances, including six starts, and was 3-2 with a 4.39 ERA…Registered 27 strikeouts and allowed eight walks in 26.2 innings…Worked the ninth inning of the Gators’ NCAA College World Series opener against UCLA…Tossed a scoreless eighth inning in the Gainesville Regional final versus Florida Atlantic…Drew the start against Alabama in the Orange and Blue’s fourth outing of the SEC Tourney but took the loss…Pitched 1.1 innings in the finale at South Carolina and yielded a hit and a run…Threw two scoreless innings and had two strikeouts in the win over UNF during his first start following his injury…Returned to the lineup on May 12 by throwing a scoreless inning as the Gators handled Florida Atlantic…Was sidelined for close to two months after being struck with a line drive versus Charleston Southern on March 14…Improved to 2-0 with five strong innings in the finale at Miami (Fla.), when he gave up one earned run and had four K…Set a career high with seven strikeouts over five frames against Siena…Started Florida’s season opener against USF on Feb. 19 and went 3.1 innings, giving up three hits and a run, with four strikeouts…It was his first appearance since May 31, 2008, versus Florida State.  

 

(2009): Was sidelined for the entire season while recovering from shoulder surgery and received a medical redshirt.

 

AS A FRESHMAN (2008): Named to the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll…Tied for third on the Gators with 11 starts and was 4-4 with a 4.40 ERA in 15 appearances…Over 59.1 innings, the righty gave up 60 hits and 36 runs (29 earned)…Permitted 32 walks and totaled 30 strikeouts…Opponents batted .265 against him…Worked at least five innings in his first six collegiate starts and posted a 4-1 mark and a 2.70 ERA during that stretch…Drew seven starts in the 10 league series and was 2-4 with a 5.05 ERA in nine conference appearances…Limited South Carolina to one hit and one run over a career-high four-inning relief stint at the SEC Tournament…Fired four shutout innings and held USF to two hits in a 12-2 victory on May 13...Was on the hook in four-straight appearances versus LSU (March 30), Tennessee (April 5), Arkansas (April 13) and Kentucky (April 20)…Was chosen as the SEC Freshman of the Week on March 24 after capturing the finale of the Gators' series victory over eighth-ranked Ole Miss…Limited the Rebels to six hits and a run over a career-high seven innings on Easter Sunday afternoon as UF claimed the rubber game of the weekend series in Oxford, 10-2…The Gators had not defeated UM on the road in a series since March 28-30, 1997…Surrendered just a fourth-inning run and 11 of the 18 outs he recorded were on fly balls…Emerged victorious in his initial league start by tossing six shutout frames in the 6-2 conquest of Auburn…Was not involved in the decision in the 6-2 triumph over Miami (Fla.) despite holding the Hurricanes to two runs and four hits over four innings…Captured his collegiate debut with a five-inning outing against Siena in which he tallied five strikeouts, scattered five hits and gave up two runs.

 

SUMMER: Played for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the Cape Cod League in 2010…His squad captured the Eastern Division and posted the best regular-season record…Over 22.2 innings during the regular season, he was 1-2 with 22 strikeouts and 10 walks…Collected a victory in the playoffs over Orleans…Y-D advanced to the championship series but was defeated by the Cotuit Kettleers.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Landy Faedo at Alonso High School…Was the first player from Alonso to sign a Division I baseball scholarship…Was the 117th overall selection in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft in the third round by the San Diego Padres…Turned in a sensational senior year in which he compiled a 9-2 record with a 1.01 ERA…Notched 84 strikeouts, while allowing only 23 walks in 76 innings…Tossed five complete games in 13 games played…Contributed a .411 batting average with 31 runs batted in, seven homers, six doubles and two triples…Did not commit an error in the field…A 2007 Rawlings Preseason All-American, the righty earned numerous accolades after the season, including the Hillsborough County Player of the Year, Tampa Tribune Player of the Year and the St. Petersburg Times Player of the Year…Toledo was the Most Valuable Player of the prestigious Saladino Tournament…His club went 31-5 and advanced to the regional final…Recipient of the Wade Boggs Athletic Achievement Award, which recognizes outstanding athletic and scholastic achievement by a player living in Hillsborough County…Earned honorable mention all-state and all-county recognition in 2006, when he was 6-1 with a 0.70 ERA and had 45 strikeouts in 40 innings…Added a .333 batting average and collected the Ravens' Best Pitcher Award…One of his highlights of the campaign was tossing a complete-game four-hitter against Gaither High School, when he knocked in the lone run of the game with a single…Played with the Midland (Ohio) Redskins that summer and was 9-0 with a 1.07 ERA as his club claimed the 18-Under Perfect Game Baseball Championship Series event held in Jupiter, Fla…Was awarded a Golden Raven Award, which is presented to 10 Alonso seniors out of 552 students for integrity, excellence and pride…Member of the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, the Fellowship of Christian Athletics and Students Against Drunk Driving (S.A.D.D.).
