AS A SENIOR (2010): Chosen in the 36th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim with the 1,104th pick…Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the third time…Represented Florida on the 2010 SEC Baseball Community Service Team that highlights an athlete from each school who gives back to his community in superior service efforts…Visited local schools and libraries in Gainesville, as well as on Cape Cod during the summer when he was playing in the Cape Cod League, to speak to elementary schools about the importance of education and reading…Has made numerous visits to the pediatric care unit of Shands Hospital and participated in the "Gator Tracks" Christmas shoe drive in which he collected and brought shoes, wrapped boxes and distributed to the items to schools…Took part in a student-athlete panel discussion with University of Florida faculty members and students, as well as Climb for Cancer philanthropy (team leader in 2008 and 2009)…Helped with the Friends of Jaclyn adoption with the rest of his teammates and volunteered at the Run for Darius 5K race…In addition, he was the Treasurer of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the Vice-President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was a state finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship as UF’s representative…Scored in the 98th percentile on the LSAT and was a Boyd McWhorter Scholarship Nominee... Consistent performer on Florida's Dean's List and an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Nominee, Tignor collaborated with a handful of other Gator student-athletes and staff to produce the inaugural Florida Letterman's Awards Show, an ESPY-like show…Appeared in 13 games, with two starts at catcher, and was 2-for-16 (.125) with three runs and three RBI…Caught the ninth inning against UCLA at the NCAA College World Series...Lofted his first sacrifice fly of the campaign in the ninth inning against FAU during the Gainesville Regional...Started behind the plate in the finale at South Carolina and poked a two-run double as part of the six-run seventh inning...Singled in the ninth for his first hit of the year at USF...Reached on an error in game two at Tennessee and scored on Daniel Pigott’s pinch-hit double...Drew a one-out walk in the bottom of the ninth with the Gators down by a 6-3 margin to USF and scored on Matt den Dekker’s two-run single.

 

AS A JUNIOR (2009): Selected to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the second time…Played in 29 games, with seven starts at catcher and three as the Gators’ designated hitter...Batted .213 (10-for-47) with 11 RBI, six runs and five walks...Hit .250 (3-for-12) in 10 SEC outings…Had a career-high six-game hitting streak dating back to last season snapped in the Miami (Fla.) series...Played against Bethune-Cookman in the NCAA Regional and went 0-for-3...Started the opener of the SEC Tournament versus Arkansas at DH…Played in two of the three contests at LSU and was 1-for-3…Was 2-for-2 in the 15-4 win over Stetson with a run, an RBI and his first extra-base hit of the season, a double down the line in the sixth inning...Singled in his lone at bat of the Alabama series...Appeared in both ends of the home-and-home series against UNF with one start at catcher...Recorded a single in game two during the sweep of Tennessee...Started the finale at Arkansas behind the dish…Scored a run in the final matchup with Duquesne…Reached base twice with a single and a walk in a 1-for-3 performance against Florida Atlantic...Started as the backstop at Stetson and was 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a run...Was 3-for-4 (.750) in the pair of triumphs over Eastern Michigan...Singled through the left side in game two...Was 2-for-3 and scored a run in his first start of the year on Feb. 24... Made season debut in the second encounter with Louisville and stole second after being hit by a pitch.

 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2008): Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll…Made 13 starts at catcher, played in 28 games and was 17-for-56 (.304)...Scored 15 runs, with nine RBI, six walks and three homers...Played in 11 SEC games, with two starts, and was 5-for-18 (.278)...Saw action in both of UF's games at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional and drew a walk in his only plate appearance…Started against Vanderbilt at the SEC Tournament and was 1-for-4, poking an RBI single in the sixth...Valuable contributor to the Gators’ 13-12 triumph over the Commodores in the regular-season finale...Gave the hosts an 8-7 lead in the sixth with a solo shot to left field...Also singled and scored as part of a four-run eighth...Was 1-for-3 at the plate with the first triple of his career to lead off the fifth inning of UF’s 12-2 triumph over USF...Was a perfect 2-for-2 and scored twice during the slugfest with Bethune-Cookman...Played in all three games at Kentucky and was 3-for-9 (.333)...Helped UF even the series by going 3-for-5 with a sac bunt in game two...Led off the second inning with his second homer to give the Gators a 3-0 lead...Delivered singles in the third and fifth innings and moved Clayton Pisani into scoring position with a sacrifice in the eighth...Drew the start against North Florida on April 2 and was 1-for-2 with a second-inning single that put the Gators on the board...Was 3-for-6 (.500) during the two-game set with Jacksonville...Came off the bench and was 2-for-2 with three RBI in the 15-0 shutout of Campbell...Launched first career homer in the eighth with a two-run job and had an RBI single in the seventh...Went 1-for-5 (.200) during the Miami (Fla.) series with a team-high three sacrifice hits...Set a career best with two sac bunts in the second game...Foiled former high school teammate Eric Erickson’s chance at a no-hitter with a one-out double to right center in the sixth inning of the opener.

 

AS A FRESHMAN (2007): Appeared in 32 games, with 23 starts at catcher...Was 20-for-70 (.286) with 12 runs and 11 RBI…Threw out nine of 22 runners attempting to steal, including all three at LSU...Went 11-for-37 (.297) with seven RBI and six runs in 15 SEC games...Started twice at the SEC Tournament...Delivered a sac fly in the 3-2 edging of Alabama in the first elimination game...Started the first two games against Tennessee and had three RBI and two walks...Started the final two games against LSU and was 3-for-5 (.600) with a pair of RBI and two walks...Went 2-for-6 at Vanderbilt, including two RBI singles in game two with the Commodores...Started the final two games of the Kentucky series and was 3-for-8 (.375)...Notched his fourth multiple-hit effort by going 2-for-4 on Saturday...Walked and scored a run in the first meeting with South Carolina...Drew the start against Florida State, walked and scored...Went 2-for-3 at Georgia with his first stolen base...Went 2-for-4 and scored in the mid-week matchup with Jacksonville...Exploded in the nightcap of the doubleheader against George Washington, going 4-for-4 with three RBI and three runs, highlighted by his first double...Collected his first collegiate hit with a single up the middle versus Kent State on Feb. 24.

 

SUMMER: Played in the Cape Cod League in the summers of 2007-09 for Orleans…In ‘07, Tignor caught 24 games behind the dish and batted .139 with eight runs, six walks and four RBI as the squad tied for third in the Eastern Division…Orleans captured the East title in '08 as Tignor played in 27 games and hit .132 with five runs and three RBI…Re-named the Firebirds for the 2009 campaign, Tignor had a .192 clip in 19 games with four runs and three RBI…Orleans defeated Chatham in a one-game playoff to advance to the semifinals but fell to eventual champion Bourne. 

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Clyde Metcalf at Sarasota High School…Collected honorable mention all-state in Class 6A during his final prep season, when he hit .340 and surrendered only one stolen base…The Sailors were the runner-up at the state tournament…Was chosen as the Defensive Most Valuable Player of the Sarasota Baseball Classic…Took home the team's Ron K. Drews Award and was the squad's Scholar-Athlete of the Year recipient…Named a 2006 Puma Preseason All-American by Team One and the Baseball Factory…Batted .400 in his junior year as Sarasota enjoyed an undefeated regular season and captured the district championship…The Sailors compiled a 28-1 overall record and were ninth in the final national rankings compiled by Baseball America…Two-time member of the Sarasota Herald Tribune All-Area team…Was a three-year letterwinner in football…Served as co-president of Sarasota's National Honor Society and achieved highest scholastic honors every year of his academic career…Member of the school's Advisory Council.
