AS A SOPHOMORE (2008): Member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the first time…Saw action in 46 games and started 39 games in right field…Batted .220 with 22 runs, 16 RBI and seven doubles…Struck out a team-high 42 times and earned 14 walks…Career-best 16-game hitting streak ended on March 11 against FGCU...Was at .164 in conference play, with 10 runs, four RBI and four doubles... AS A FRESHMAN (2007): Named to the SEC All-Freshman Team...Appeared in 52 games, making 10 starts in right field, nine in left field and eight in center...Had a .260 average and scored 25 runs...Was 4-for-6 on stolen-base opportunities...Turned in a .303 clip and scored 16 runs in 27 SEC outings...Went 1-for-4 in the 3-2 victory over Alabama at the SEC Tourney that kept the Gators alive...Produced a 4-for-9 (.444) effort with six runs, two RBI and two walks in the Tennessee series...Was 2-for-5 and matched a season high of two RBI in the first meeting with the Vols, including his second homer...Was among the team leaders with a .556 (5-for-9) showing at LSU...Turned in a career-high 3-for-5 outing in Saturday’s 8-4 win...Was 2-for-3 with a double and his first career triple in the third game...Went 1-for-4 and was hit by a pitch against UNF...Made a pair of starts against Alabama in right field and went 2-for-9 (.222)...Started the last two games at Vanderbilt in left field and was 2-for-7 (.286) on the weekend...Matched season highs in hits (two) and runs (two) in Saturday's contest...Started all three games against Kentucky in left field and was 2-for-10 (.200)...Delivered an RBI single, had a sacrifice bunt and stole a base in the 10-7 win over the Wildcats...Had a 2-for-3 outing in the first contest at Arkansas and was hit by a pitch...Made a highlight reel catch in the bottom of the 10th at Georgia...Matt den Dekker would club a solo shot in the 11th to lift the Gators to the 3-2 win...Started the finale at Auburn and was 1-for-5 with a run...Was plunked as a pinch hitter at Stetson and came around to score UF’s second run in the 4-3 setback...Started the final two games versus Mississippi State and was 3-for-9 with two RBI...Lofted a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning against Army, providing an insurance run in the 5-3 win...Had a double in the first matchup with Texas A&M and was 1-for-4 in the series....Set a season high with two runs scored and stole his first base in the finale with GW and was 2-for-6 (.333) in the series… Delivered his first sacrifice during the fourth inning of game one...Started two of the three matchups with Miami (Fla.)...Came through with a key two-run single in UF’s 7-5 victory in game two of the series...Was a perfect 2-for-2 with a single and a double in his first collegiate action during the season debut against VMI on Feb. 9.

SUMMER: Played for the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod League in the summer of 2007…In 24 games, he batted .182 (10-for-55) with five sacrifice hits and four stolen bases.

HIGH SCHOOL: An outfielder for head coach Anthony Campanella at Seabreeze High School, Pigott earned honorable mention all-state honors in Class 5A in 2006…Selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 31st round, 938th overall, of the 2006 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft…Was named the Offensive Player of the Year after hitting .430 as a senior…Was a first-team all-area and first-team all-district selection as a junior…The Sandcrabs' '05 Defensive Player of the Year batted .353 and led his club in walks (17) and doubles (six)…Ranked seventh by Baseball America on the list of the top-20 prospects for the Class of 2006 at the East Coast Professional Showcase...Participated in the Area Code Games at the West Coast Showcase and the Florida Diamond Club Showcase and improved his SPARQ rating 10 points between August and October, 2005…The SPARQ rating is a system designed to measure sport-specific athleticism and measures the tangibles of explosiveness, power and speed….During his sophomore campaign, Pigott helped Seabreeze to the district championship by hitting a team-best .373 on his way to Offensive Player of the Year, first-team all-area and first-team all-district mention…Was a member of the National Honor Society and made the Honor Roll every semester…Earned Superintendent and Principal's Awards for outstanding achievement.

PERSONAL: Jonathan Stuart Pigott was born Oct. 25, 1987, in Daytona Beach, Fla… His parents are Joe and Linda Pigott…Has a younger brother, Daniel, 17…Chose to attend Florida because of the coaches, facility and quality of the program…Majoring in social and behavioral sciences.
