AS A SENIOR (2008): Earned a berth on the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the first time in his career…Started 21 games as UF’s designated hitter and appeared in 40 games...The Gators were 13-8 when he started at DH... AS A FRESHMAN (2005): Played in 24 games and made six starts as the designated hitter...Batted .219 (7-for-32) and drove in seven runs…Walked 10 times…Saw action in both games of the College World Series championship round against Texas as a pinch hitter but went 0-for-2...Saw his first career NCAA action versus Notre Dame on June 5...Ripped a pinch-hit triple against the Fighting Irish in the top of the ninth inning...Jump-started the six-run, eighth-inning rally against Arkansas in the SEC Tournament with a pinch-hit double...Started as the designated hitter in game two at Georgia and was 0-for-2 with a walk...Laced a pinch-hit RBI single in the game two win over Kentucky in the seventh inning...Bashed a pinch-hit, two-run homer in the ninth at Ole Miss on March 19 for his first round-tripper...Earned a pivotal two-out walk in the 10th inning against Villanova on March 6, setting the stage for UF’s 6-5 triumph...Walked twice and scored versus Rhode Island on Feb. 25...Drew a free pass in his first four games...Barber’s initial career hit was a two-run single as part of a six-run first inning against Miami (Fla.) on Feb. 20...Also scored a run courtesy of a walk...Collected the first two RBI of his career with a sacrifice fly to deep center field against FAMU that plated Brian Leclerc and Justin Tordi.
SUMMER: Played for the Herndon (Va.) Braves of the Clark C. Griffith Collegiate Baseball League in ‘06…Following a runner-up finish in the regular season, the Braves won the 2006 CGCBL Tournament…Was third on the squad with a .277 batting average and 13 RBI and was 7-for-8 on the basepaths…Ranked third on the Rochester (Minn.) Honkers of the Northwoods League in 2005 with a .309 clip as the club advanced to the South Division Championship Series…Drove in 12 runs, drew 12 walks and also chipped in with four doubles and three home runs.
