Major: History

AS A SENIOR (2008): Appeared in 31 games as a position player, with 21 starts at designated hitter and one start in right field…Had a .237 average with 12 RBI, 11 runs and three homers...Started 14 games in SEC play and hit .305 (18-for-59) with seven RBI... Made six appearances on the mound and was 0-0 with a 16.88 earned run average in 5.1 innings…Worked two-thirds of an inning in the season finale against Florida State at NCAA Regionals, allowing three hits and a couple of runs…Was 0-for-2 as a pinch hitter at the SEC Tournament...Recorded the final two outs of the 12-2 win over USF in relief of Adam Allen...Struggled at the plate, going 1-for-7 (.143) at South Carolina...Appeared in all three games at Kentucky, with starts at DH (game one) and in right field (game two)...Notched his third sac fly in the 13-7 victory, driving in Avery Barnes in the second inning...Went 2-for-5 in the opener...Started the first two games versus Arkansas and went 2-for-7 (.286)...Roped an RBI double in game two...Was 3-for-12 (.250) at Tennessee and drove in two runs with a sac fly in game three and had an RBI single in the second matchup...Made collegiate starting debut as a pitcher against North Florida on April 2 and gave up five hits and four runs over 1.1 innings...Also went 0-for-4 at the plate... Continued recent surge by going 5-for-12 (.417) versus LSU and delivered at least one hit in every contest...Connected on a homer in the finale, when he was 2-for-4....Sliced an RBI single through the right side of the infield on Saturday...Also chipped in two hits in the first contest and opened the six-run seventh with a double...Was 2-for-9 (.222) in two meetings with Jacksonville, highlighted by a 2-for-5, career-high three-RBI effort in the opener...Belted his second homer with a solo shot in the sixth…Led UF with a .571 (4-for-7) average at Ole Miss...Was a perfect 3-for-3 in the second game and stroked a first-inning single that drove in Jonathan Pigott...Belted first homer as a Gator with a second-inning solo shot in the 6-1 win over Florida State...Also had a sac bunt and was 1-for-2...Made collegiate debut as a pitcher in the ninth inning of game two against Auburn and was tagged for five hits and four runs in two-thirds of an inning.    

AS A JUNIOR (2007): Started four games at designated hitter and was 4-for-22 (.182) in 13 games...Drove in six runs...Was 0-for-5 at Texas A&M...Had a two-run double in the finale against George Washington and had a run-scoring single in the second meeting with the Colonials...Stroked a pinch-hit single as part of a five-run fourth inning as the Gators knocked off No. 5 Miami (Fla.), 7-5, on Feb. 17...First hit at UF was an RBI single in the romp over Florida A&M.     

AT TALLAHASSEE C.C. (2005-06): First-team All-Panhandle Conference and second-team all-state choice for head coach Mike McLeod at Tallahassee C.C. in both 2005 and 2006…Hit .343 with 58 runs batted in, 14 doubles and 10 home runs as the Eagles were 38-14 in 2006…Led the team in batting (.389), slugging percentage (.649), hits (72), homers (nine) and triples (three) and total bases (120) in '05…Contributed 42 RBI as TCC was 37-16…Hit safely in his first 10 games as an Eagle and 28 of his first 30 outings…Had an 18-game hitting streak from March 1-26…Paced the club with 22 multi-hit games, including eight three-hit performances…Also drove in three runs on six occasions…Chosen by the Boston Red Sox in the 45th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft with the 1,361st pick.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach David Saliba at Winter Haven High School…Taken by the Chicago Cubs in the 34th round (1,026th) during the 2004 MLB Draft…Second-team Class 4A all-state selection by the Florida Sports Writers Association as a senior…Batted .410 with 31 runs batted in and a team-best seven home runs in his final prep season, when he was a first-team all-county choice…The Blue Devils advanced to the state title game that year and had a 28-4 mark…Second-team all-conference selection by the Winter Haven News Chief in 2003 while attending Lake Region High School…Was a member of Team Florida USA and earned all-tournament honors at several events around the Southeast...While representing the Polk County All-Stars, Bamberg helped the squad bring home the 2004 18-and-Under Dixie Youth World Series title from Monroe, La.
