Major: History

 

AS A SENIOR (2009): Made the SEC Academic Honor Roll for this third-straight year…Played in 39 games with 29 starts (15 at catcher, 12 at designated hitter, two at first base) and was 27-for-84 (.321) with 25 RBI...Hit a career-high seven homers, drew 11 walks, was hit nine times and was 3-for-4 on the basepaths...Hit .356 (16-for-45) in SEC action with five home runs...Tied the first game of the NCAA Super Regional with a two-run homer in the third inning and was 1-for-2 in the contest...Was 4-for-8 (.500) in the NCAA Gainesville Regional and drove in five runs...Had an RBI double (first) and a run-scoring single (fifth) as part of a 2-for-4 outing in the Regional Championship game...Laced an RBI single in the sixth during UF’s 8-2 win over Miami (Fla.)...Delivered a walk-off, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth to turn a 7-6 deficit into an 8-7 victory over Bethune-Cookman...Started the SEC Tournament opener against Arkansas with Stephen Locke on the mound and went 0-for-1...Appeared in all three games of the Kentucky series, with two starts, and was 2-for-6 (.333) with a homer...Started the opener at LSU and was 1-for-3 the plate…Belted his  fourth homer during SEC play with a solo shot that started the scoring in the game two victory over Georgia…Entertained the fans at Foley Field during the rain delay by diving on the tarp...Was 2-for-8 (.250) with four RBI and three runs in the sweep of Eastern Division rival South Carolina...Both of his hits were homers...However, his career-best hitting streak of nine games ended with an 0-for-2 performance in the finale, when he was hit twice...Made two starts during Ole Miss’ visit and was 1-for-2 with two RBI, two walks, a run, a sac fly and a sacrifice hit...Was 1-for-3 at the plate with a two-run single up the middle in the fifth inning against Stetson...Matched a career high with three RBI in a 2-for-3 performance at Florida State that included his second homer in the three games…Started games two and three at Auburn and was 4-for-8 (.500)...Set numerous career highs in game two, going 3-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, a double and his first homer of the year...Was 2-for-3 in the finale at Vanderbilt… Saw action in all three games versus Tennessee, including two starts, and recorded his first hits of the season in a 2-for-6 (.333) showing in the series.

 

AS A JUNIOR (2008): Chosen to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the second time…Saw time in 33 games, with 14 starts (13-C, 1-DH)...Batted .264 with eight runs, eight walks and three RBI...A perfect 4-for-4 on the basepaths, joining Matt den Dekker (20-for-20) as the only Gators successful on four or more attempts...Was 1-for-4 (.250) during the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, including a single and a run against Florida State…Saw action in all three games at Alabama, with a start in game two...In that contest, Foster provided the Gators with a 3-1 lead in the fourth with his second bomb of the season...He matched single-game highs in walks (two), hits (one), runs (one), RBI (one), homers (one), and steals (one)...Went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in the second meeting with South Carolina…Started games two and three against Georgia, going 2-for-7 (.286) with an RBI...Matched his season RBI total by driving in den Dekker with a single to left center in the seventh inning of game three...Appeared in two games of the Arkansas series, with one start, and was 1-for-3 with his third stolen base...Made one of the defensive plays of the year by blocking the tying run from scoring in the eighth inning to preserve the 3-2 victory over North Florida on April 9...Caught a bullet from right fielder Jonathan Pigott and held on as the runner slid into home...Was 1-for-3 in the series and had his second theft...Was 2-for-5 (.400) during the visit to Tennessee and stole his first career base...Played in both wins over Campbell and made starting debut in the second contest, when he was 1-for-2 and scored a run...Jacked a pinch-hit home run in the sixth inning of the opener against Eastern Michigan for his first career hit...Made his collegiate starting debut as UF’s designated hitter in the second game versus Siena and went 0-for-2.

 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2007): Earned Academic All-SEC honors…Played in four games (George Washington on March 3, at LSU on May 11 and against Tennessee on May 17 and 18)...Grounded out to second base in his first collegiate at bat versus GW on March 3.

 

AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2006): Did not see any action for the Gators.

 

(2005): Was redshirted in his first season on the Florida campus.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at The Bolles School for head coach Mike Boswell…The Bulldogs claimed the state championship in 2002 and won 20 or more games each season he was on the team…Had a .320 batting average during his junior year, with 50 runs batted in and a team-high 25 walks…Belted home runs in consecutive at bats during the Virginia Showcase Camp…Member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and served on the student council in high school.
