AS A SENIOR (2008): Appeared in 31 games as a position player, with 21 starts at designated hitter and one start in right field…Had a .237 average with 12 RBI, 11 runs and three homers...Started 14 games in SEC play and hit .305 (18-for-59) with seven RBI... AS A JUNIOR (2007): Started four games at designated hitter and was 4-for-22 (.182) in 13 games...Drove in six runs...Was 0-for-5 at Texas A&M...Had a two-run double in the finale against George Washington and had a run-scoring single in the second meeting with the Colonials...Stroked a pinch-hit single as part of a five-run fourth inning as the Gators knocked off No. 5 Miami (Fla.), 7-5, on Feb. 17...First hit at UF was an RBI single in the romp over Florida A&M.
AT TALLAHASSEE C.C. (2005-06): First-team All-Panhandle Conference and second-team all-state choice for head coach Mike McLeod at Tallahassee C.C. in both 2005 and 2006…Hit .343 with 58 runs batted in, 14 doubles and 10 home runs as the Eagles were 38-14 in 2006…Led the team in batting (.389), slugging percentage (.649), hits (72), homers (nine) and triples (three) and total bases (120) in '05…Contributed 42 RBI as TCC was 37-16…Hit safely in his first 10 games as an Eagle and 28 of his first 30 outings…Had an 18-game hitting streak from March 1-26…Paced the club with 22 multi-hit games, including eight three-hit performances…Also drove in three runs on six occasions…Chosen by the Boston Red Sox in the 45th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft with the 1,361st pick.
