AS A SOPHOMORE (2006): Selected to the SEC Academic Honor Roll…Had an 0-1 mark in five appearances spanning eight innings…Lone start of the season was against Stetson on March 21, when he suffered the defeat after allowing four hits and four runs over 1.1 innings…Threw a season-high three innings in relief of Kris Gawriluk versus Texas A&M on March 5 and held the Aggies scoreless…However, the Gators wound up on the short end of a 1-0 count.
AS A FRESHMAN (2005): Made 10 appearances with three starts during his first collegiate season…Compiled an 0-2 record with 14 strikeouts in 17.1 innings pitched…Pitched 2.1 frames, allowing only two hits and a run against Florida State on May 3…Had tossed a career-high 4.1 innings in a start versus the Seminoles on April 19 and registered three strikeouts…Hurled 2.2 innings against Kentucky in relief on April 3, an 11-6 Gator victory…Pitched a scoreless inning at Ole Miss March 19 with two strikeouts…Made first career start vs. Florida A&M on Feb. 22, giving up two runs on two hits with two K in two innings…Debuted against the Rattlers Feb. 15 with two innings of work and a career-high four strikeouts.
SUMMER: Went 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA for the Daytona Beach Barracudas of the Florida Collegiate Summer League in the summer of 2005…Teammates with current Gators Michael Branham and Kris Gawriluk…Made eight appearances, including three starts, and tied for the team lead with two saves…Registered 25 strikeouts in 24 innings and permitted 15 walks….The Barracudas shared second place during the regular season with Zephyrhills, one game behind Winter Park…Appeared in the league's All-Star Game.
