AS A FRESHMAN (2005): Did not see any playing time during the baseball season as he also participated in the football squad's spring drills…Starting tight end on the Gator football team in the fall…Had eight receptions for 127 yards and four touchdowns in helping UF earn a berth to the Peach Bowl on New Year's Eve at the Georgia Dome…One of only two true freshmen on the Orange and Blue to see action in all 12 games…Drew starts against Middle Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida State and Miami (Fla.)…Tied for fourth nationally and tied for second in the SEC among freshmen tight ends with four touchdown receptions …First UF true freshman tight end to catch a touchdown pass since 1979…Casey's four TD receptions were the most by a true freshman since Ike Hilliard caught four in 1994…Wound up one trip to the end zone shy of the school record by a rookie receiver…Made collegiate debut in the Gators' season opener against Eastern Michigan at tight end and on kickoff coverage…First true freshman TE to play on opening day since Ben Troupe in 2000…Caught first career touchdown pass against defending national champion LSU…Tallied two touchdowns and totaled 28 yards receiving in the Homecoming win over South Carolina…Made two catches for a career-high 30 yards receiving, including two first-down conversions, in the victory in Tallahassee against Florida State…Hauled in a 26-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Chris Leak against Vanderbilt…Caught one ball for 15 yards versus Miami (Fla.) in the Peach Bowl.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was selected in the 19th round of the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft by the Minnesota Twins…Ranked 28th on Baseball America's Top 100 Prospects from the high school Class of 2004…Four-year letterwinner in baseball at Longview High School, where he played for head coach Joey Kalmus…Chosen all-district four-consecutive years and was voted as his team's Most Valuable Pitcher last spring…Registered 15 strikeouts and hurled a complete-game shutout against John Tyler last season…Throws a 88-92 mile per hour fastball, a 76-78 mph change-up and a 76 mph curve ball according to the Perfect Game Scouting Service…Ranked as No. 1 prospect at the Southern Underclassmen Showcase held at the University of Houston after his sophomore campaign…Had a 12-16 career record on the mound with 145 strikeouts…Batted over .300 with 36 RBIs…In a national showcase held at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, the right-hander was clocked at 94 miles per hour…Was one of the nation's top tight-end prospects…Rated the 49th-best prospect in the state of Texas in SuperPrep's All-America issue…Rivals.com rated Casey a three-star athlete and the seventh-best tight end prospect in the nation…Also ranked as the top tight-end prospect from the Big 12 Conference region by Rivals.com…Member of TheInsiders.com Big 12 Conference Hot 100 (No. 49 overall)…Snared 14 catches for 272 yards, a 19.4-yards per reception average as a senior…Had 19 receptions for 365 yards and three touchdowns as a junior, averaging 19.2 yards per catch in a run-oriented offense…The bulk of those yards came in the playoffs, when he caught six passes for 113 yards and two TDs…Casey's 31-yard scoring catch helped open the floodgates as the Lobos stunned previously unbeaten Garland, 45-0, in the bi-district round…High school football coach at Longview was Pat Collins…Decided to forgo basketball after his sophomore year and concentrate on just football and baseball…Runs a 4.7 40-yard dash.
