AS A SENIOR (2006): Injured prior to the start of the season and did not see any action…Member of the Academic All-SEC squad.

AS A JUNIOR (2005): Played in 16 games and made six starts, five at third base and one as the designated hitter…Selected to the SEC Academic Honor Roll…The Gators were a perfect 5-0 when he manned the hot corner…Batted .172 and drove in three runs…Suffered a broken wrist during practice leading up to the Alabama series in April and missed the remainder of the campaign…Connected on his first career homer in the series finale against Michigan State…Started two of the three encounters with Villanova at third base...Batted .125 (1-for-8) and chipped in a sacrifice in the final game...Stroked a pinch-hit single in the eighth inning of the second game against Miami (Fla.)...Snapped a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the ninth versus Charleston Southern on Feb. 12 with a single to plate Justin Tordi with the winning run...Started as the Gators' DH on opening night and was 1-for-2.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2004): Played in nine games and started twice in left field for the Gators…Batted .333 (4-for-12) and drove in two runs…Went 2-for-8 (.250) as a pinch hitter and scored a couple of runs…Contributed a hit in three of his nine outings…Drove in a run on St. Patrick's Day against Army…Enjoyed a 2-for-2 showing in 12-3 win over Northwestern on Feb. 29…Delivered a pinch-hit single in 9-4 decision over Michigan on Feb. 25…First hit at Florida was a run-scoring single as a pinch hitter in 9-8 edging of Miami (Ohio) on Feb. 22.

AT SOUTH FLORIDA C.C. (2003): Spent one year at South Florida Community College under head coach Richard Hitt…Batted .295 with 27 RBI and 27 runs…Smacked 12 doubles, swatted three homers, stole two bases and had a triple…Patrolled left field primarily.

SUMMER: Played for the Harrisonburg (Va.) Turks of the Valley League in 2002 and 2003…Earned the league's Player of the Week kudos during the opening week of season by going a perfect 7-for-7 with two RBI and a double in the first two games…Through seven games, he was hitting .520 (13-of-25) with three doubles, three runs, three RBI and two stolen bases… Finished the year batting .331 and was second on the team in hits…Drove in 18 runs, scored 10 times and had 10 doubles, leading to a .381 on-base percentage…Represented the West team in the midseason All-Star game, a contest his team won by a 7-4 margin…Finished ninth in the balloting for the Valley League Most Valuable Player…An injury forced him to leave the Turks after only six games in '02…Had batted .333 (6-for-18) in limited action….Also played three years for the American Legion Post 334 team based in North Tampa…Team finished as the state runner-up in 2000.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2001 graduate of King High School in Tampa, Fla., where he was a four-year letterwinner for head coach Jim Macaluso…Three-time All-Western Conference selection, two-time all-county pick and two-time King Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year recipient…Hit .360 with 20 RBI and three homers as a senior…During his final prep season, Brooks paced his squad in eight offensive categories as King finished 17-6 and captured the district title…Hit .430 and recorded 26 runs batted in during his junior campaign…Tied the school's record for consecutive-game hitting streak…Established school standards for at bats and doubles as a sophomore on his way to a .344 clip…Four-year starter who earned Rookie of the Year accolades as a freshman…Ranked as the No. 7 pro prospect at the Team One East Coast Showcase in 2001…Claimed the inaugural Bay Area High School Home Run Derby hosted by the Toronto Blue Jays with 17 home runs…Scholar-athlete who was involved in several organizations, including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Homecoming Court, the National Honor Society and student government at KHS.
