Was named team MVP and was second-team all-state as a junior Also earned first-team all-area after batting .419 with two homers, 13 RBI and 19 stolen bases in 2002 when his team finished 19-9 As a sophomore, he hit .345 with 12 RBI and eight stolen bases in leading his squad to a 24-8 mark and district runner-up finish Named honorable mention all-state and second-team all-area that season when LRHS was the 3A district runners-up Also pitched as a sophomore and went 4-2 with 40 strikeouts in 29.0 innings on the mound As a freshman he won the Lakewood Ranch Ironman Award as his squad claimed 2A district championship Also lettered in football four years.
