PREP: A 2001 graduate of Palmetto High School where he lettered four years in baseball for head coach John Hayduk...Hit .434 (43-99) with nine triples and two home runs as a senior...As a senior, set school records for batting average (.434), single season hits (43) and season triples (nine)...Second Team All State player, FACA state all star team and team MVP as a senior...Three-time All Miami-Dade County honorable mention selection...Set school record for stolen bases as a sophomore (26)...Played in Baseball America's Perfect Games Series...Outstanding student and three-time All Academic team (1999-2001).
SUMMER BASEBALL: Played for Connie Mack League's Florida Bombers in 2000 and 2001...Hit .436 in 2001 and .424 in 2000 with 20 RBI while earning USSSA all-tournament and best defensive player honors...Helped lead the Bombers to the 2000 USABF World Series title in San Diego, Calif...Played in Baseball America Perfect Games series.
