STORYLINE: Ramsey, a lefthander who was drafted in the 11th Round of the 2001 MLB Draft, returns to Florida after leading the Gators in earned run average (2.24), saves (nine), strikeouts (56) and appearances (31). This year, he could see action in the weekend starting rotation and emerging last year as UF's closer. He ranked nationally in two categories (19th ERA- 2.24 and tied for 20th in saves- nine) and also ranked second among SEC leaders in four categories- saves (9), games finished (27), appearances (31) and games in relief (31). His nine saves were the seventh all-time season best total in UF history and his 31 appearances ranks tied for eighth all time.

1999-2000 AT L.A. HARBOR J.C.: Played two years at L.A. Harbor in Wilmington, Calif. where he played two years of baseball for head coach Jay Uhlman...Two-time all conference player...Finished with 1-1 record, one save, 2.31 ERA and struck out 28 batters in 31.1 innings pitched as a sophomore...Also played outfield and hit .361 with six doubles, 26 runs scored and 22 RBI...Earned "Best Hitter" awards...Hit .420 (42-100) with 18 runs, seven doubles and 20 RBI as a freshman...Also appeared in six games a pitcher and finished 1-1 in conference play with a 1.10 ERA...Led all hitters with .500 batting average in conference play as a freshman...Named Academic All America as a sophomore.
